Intruder Alarms

Using advanced Intruder Alarm Technology, ensuring reduction in false alarms, our intruder alarm systems are professionally designed, installed and maintained. From the outset our security surveyors will design a system that is specific to each of our customer’s needs and requirements, ensuring at the same time all British & European Standards and Police regulations are not only achieved, but are also exceeded.
Fundamentally there are two types of systems available, these being :
- Bells Only or Audible Alarm, these are usually unsuitable for commercial premises and will not provide automatic Police response.
- Remotely Monitored Systems are linked to an alarm receiving centre, which will filter the activation and notify the Police and keyholders on your behalf. This level of response is only available for systems that have been certified by an approved company, such as Alert Fire and Security Ltd.
Why Not Bells Only?
Simple, just because you have an alarm system installed it doesn't mean that you are fully protected. Bells and sounders are usually ignored and wires for the alarm may be damaged or cut, so there is no point wasting money on a system that can be easily defeated.
Choosing a remotely monitored alarm system from Alert Fire and Security will ensure peace of mind, whilst providing a cost effective solution.
Remote Monitoring
Alert Fire and Security design and install alarm systems to meet and exceed British & European standards and Police regulations.
Systems meeting the approvals can be linked to Alarm Receiving Centres who will automatically summon the Keyholder & Police on your behalf to respond to a confirmed alarm.
Alert Fire and Security use various proven types of monitoring systems that link between your premises and the Alarm Receiving Centre.
How protected do you want to be?
Different types of alarm systems offer different levels of protection:
- Bells Only Alarms - no more than an alarm bell which will ring externally and is usually ignored.
- Digital Communicator is where your alarm system is connected to an Alarm Receiving Centre via a dedicated phone line. When an alarm is triggered, the Alarm Receiving Centre receives notification and calls the relevant emergency service. A dedicated phone line is usually needed, meaning additional annual rental costs. Should this line be cut or get damaged it may not be immediately detected.
- BT Redcare uses intelligent technology to actively check that your phone line is working and to detect any problems. Line cuts or faults are signalled to the Alarm Receiving Centre within seconds. This tried and tested technology is provided by BT Redcare and was pioneered by BT.
- BT Redcare Classic the phone line is checked continuously and if there are any interruptions, a warning signal will be delivered to the Alarm Receiving Centre. This means that your alarm signalling can never be compromised without the knowledge of the Alarm Receiving Centre.
- BT Redcare GSM and Dualcom GSM provide enhanced alarm signalling, using dual path technology, using both the telephone line and a radio network. If one of these paths is attacked, or fails, the other continues to monitor your alarm regardless of which one fails first.
- Emizon IP is the advanced signalling service that combines enhanced premises protection. Emizon IP replaces the ‘weak link’ in your security system, the conventional telephone line, and replaces it with two connections. The first leverages your existing broadband internet connection; the second uses the latest wireless radio networks.
Using our Insurance Approved IP signalling system provides huge benefit, including a cost reduction of over £200.00 per year and also provides detailed information on any alarm activation.
